Give her sunshine in your smile Give her pleasure all the while Turn her thoughts from clouds of gray Give her strength to face each day Give her laughter be her friend Stay beside her till the end But, in giving all else above, Don’t forget to give her love But, in giving all else above, Don’t forget to give her love ~ Frank Sinatra, “Give Her Love”

About me, huh? You would think I would have this thing done in a minute but honestly, I don’t know where to start.

I guess I’ll start with me. You can call me Jamie. I am a 27 year old [DOB: 08/25/1982]  female that hails from North Carolina. I’ve lived here for just about of my life, except for 4 years spent up north – 2 in New Hampshire, 2 in Pennsylvania. I am a certified CNA I and hoping to find a job in that soon. I am engaged to one of the most wonderful men I know. I am an only child and close to my parents. I am a Crohn’s Disease and an ileostomy patient. I had all of my large intestine removed on January 14, 2005 and completely Crohn’s free. I talk freely and openly about my ostomy, as I have no shame in it. It saved my life so I am glad I have it. I am actually on my second ostomy, as I tried reversal (i.e.: being able to poop normally again) but it failed. So my life has been saved by an ostomy twice. Anything else you want to know, feel free to ask.

My fiance, how I love him. He asked to have an alias on this blog and I obliged. He shall be known as Carl, as he loves to annoy me by imitating Billy Bob Thornton’s character in Slingblade. We’ve known each other for 14 years, as he’s my best friend’s older brother. It’s a long story. But, we’ve been dating since May of 2008 and engaged since April 28, 2009 (he thinks I’m crazy for remembering the exact date; I am crazy but that’s a different story ;]). Our wedding is April 10, 2010.

So that’s basically it. I’ll probably add more to this as time goes by and I can remember to.
